Signs we'd love to see!

October 29, 2000 (RCNews) -- Due to extremely strong prevailing northwest winds around the Chesapeake Bay area, the Delaware Department of Transportation has started erecting road signs especially for recumbent and upright bicycle riders around Odessa, DE, warning riders of hazardous wind conditions ahead. Recumbent riders are able to handle the strong headwinds due to their lower riding position, and are routed directly into the headwinds. Upright bicyclists, who typically are unable to handle the gale-force winds on these roads, are urged to take less strenuous routes. (Photo: Craig Attig)
